Baby Girls

Strawberry creams and wonderful dreams,
Ladylike airs and teddy bears,
Fairy tales and wedding veils,
That's what granddaughters are made of.

Both our girls are expecting babies in a couple months.

Jamie and Kelly have grown up together since Doughboy and I
married when they were only 11 years old.
This will be Kelly's fourth child and Jamie's third.

Thank you Jamie and Kelly
for being the wonderful mothers you are!
You constantly amaze us with your
super-woman powers.

And thank you for giving us
two new granddaughters
to love, spoil, and cherish.

We can't wait to meet and hold
Ava Marie and "Ultimette" :)
We're so proud of you!

P.S. Kelly's baby girl isn't really named Ultimette. Her parents prefer to keep Ultimette's name a surprise until after she arrives. Whatever name they choose, it will have a strong Scandanavian influence like her dad Lars and siblings Petra, Soren and Annike. With Engstrom for a last name, what else would you expect? I love family traditions, don't you?

Hello Debra. Your blog just popped up on my screen while I was looking at Chronicles of a Country Girl. Are you the same person? The photograph looks familiar. Lovely poem about baby girls.

What a sweet blog. The little poem made me think back 26 years ago when Marlee was just a little baby girl. Loved this blog.

Welcome to our little blog, Weaver. I took this photograph Sunday evening by accident. I bought the pink shoes at TJMaxx and left them on our kitchen counter. Strolling by them, I saw how cute they are and decided to memorialize them in a photo. I guess you can't tell how excited I am about the arrival of our granddaughters. Yeah, right ;)

Apparently someone thinks we're one and the same. How fun!

Love love love your little pink shoes. And I am so glad that Ultimette is really not a name. I just breathed a huge sigh of relief.

The shoes are so adorable! You need to send that off to be a stock photo or something. Love, love, love it. That would be cute framed and put up in Ava and Ulitmette's room. I'm so glad that is not her real name as well.
