Photo Friday

I tried something new. Yes, it's totally out-of-the-box for me which doesn't happen often. I applied an artistic filter to the flower photo above. Do you like it?

As near as could tell, these butterflies were engaged in a ritual mating dance. One butterfly remained still on the ground (had to be a male) while the suspended-in-motion butterfly did all the fluttering. Or, maybe the female is on the ground playing hard to get. Who knows...? Anyway, I jacked the shutter speed all the way up to 4000 to freeze action. The wings of the butterfly were moving so fast that even a shutter speed of 2000 didn't work.

I hope your weekend is safe and enjoyable!

WOW gorgeous photos. I loveeeeeeeee the dragon flies. I have never seen them yellow before. The ones I get here by our pond are blue. I find them very shy. Are they shy there too?

I will send you an email next week. Tara and Warren's wedding is this Saturday. It's crazy busy around here.

One more thing our sister-in-law who is married to my husbands step brother just found out yesterday that she has a brain tumour (it's cancer) they are doing her brain surgery tomorrow. Please keep Jocelyn in your prayers. Thanks.

I will email you next week when things calm down.

Hugs, Janette

I love what you did with the filter. Is that the kind of filter you apply directly to your camera or something you apply in PS?

I'm not crazy about the filter, but love the other pics. You are truly talented!

The filter was interesting. Loved the last photo of the pond. It's nice to see the area where the bees and butterflies live.

I love the color of the flowers with the filter but maybe not the back ground. I have been reading about filters and would love to try some different ones out. The last shot looks so peaceful. A chair, something cool to drink and a book is what it is calling for.

You know Debra, the more I look at that filter the more I like it. I took a picture on Sunday and applied the watercolor filter to it. I'll post it to my blog for all to see.
