Ava Marie

Our youngest grandchild turns 9 today. Not years, but days old. As if to say, "It's time for me to go home", Ava's doctor pronounced her well enough to leave the hospital tomorrow. This was a special day for tiny Ava - she met older brothers Ayden and Jameson, and her Mimi and Bumpa for the first time. I am amazed at how tiny and fragile she is. In the short span since her birth, Ava has endured tremendous obstacles in her young life. She deserves to go home to the love and safety of her waiting family.

Ava's home for the first 10 days of her life

Bumpa (a/k/a Doughboy) waits his turn to meet the youngest of our eight grandchildren.

Jamseon, are you excited to have your sister home? "Nope". Hmmm...Jameson may be a challenge once his sister is home. He is used to being the baby of the family and may not enjoy sharing the attention. Only time will tell...

Daddy lost his heart to a mere snippet of a girl. Ava, I dread the day you bring your first boyfriend home :)

The last time I held a newborn baby girl was nearly 32 years ago...when I cradled Ava's mother

At this moment I remembered why I fell in love with Doughboy

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Ava gives new meaning to thumb drive.

We love you baby girl!!!!!

Precious!!!! I have tears in my eyes. My babies had to stay in NICU for 10 days. It was a happy but sad time, and I know how happy you will be to have her home! And you can go squeeze her whenever you want!

God Bless that baby!

Oh Deb! She's beautiful and I wish I could just reach out and touch her. I'm so thrilled she is finally able to go home with the family. I know you have so many wonderful days and memories ahead for the entire family. Blessings!

Can't wait to see more pictures.
