A Conversation With Santa

On the ride home from visiting Ava at the hospital yesterday, Jameson fell soundly asleep. He missed a golden opportunity to talk with the Big Man himself in what may be a last chance to fulfill his Christmas wish list. While Jameson napped at home, Jamie, Ayden and I attended an open house at their school - Royal Learners.

Crawling onto Santa's lap, Ayden asked for a Power Ranger something. The Bearded One seemed to understand exactly what Ayden requested. Hey Santa - can you help a girl out??

After a lengthy and animated discussion with Mr. Claus, we walked to the arts and crafts room where Ayden decorated a graham cracker present.

He also decorated a cookie with brightly colored sprinkles.

"Mimi - look at the pretty cookie I made!"

Going...going...

...GONE!

"Cookie? What cookie?"

Oh Ayden, you're such a con artist but you have to go a long way to best your mother. You don't understand that I survived the Queen of Con.

I hate that Jameson missed talking to Santa, but look at Ayden. It took years for my daughter to sit on Santa's lap. She would stand about three feet away for until she was about 5. Then, she'd stand next to him and then finally made it up on his lap when she was about 8. My son never had a problem with Santa. This is what I miss about having little kids around during Christmas.

What a ham! Thanks for capturing such great photos of my angle. I love that you're always willing to participate in things like this so I can concentrate on what he's doing and you can snap the pictures. We're a great team!!

Was just thinking the same thing as Roxanne. Ayden is darling. I too was sad that Jameson missed the big talk with Santa. Poor guy. Nice picture of Ayden with Santa Debra. You're a pro.
